What is microblading/nanoblading?
Microblading is the process of creating a semi-permanent, cosmetic tattoo by inserting pigment into the superficial layers of the skin. Because the pigment is only inserted superficially, it typically fades off gradually as the skin renews. Microblading results typically last 1-2 years, depending on the skin type and lifestyle of the client.
The microblading method practiced at Perfect Brows is known as nanoblading. Nanoblading is an advanced technique that produces realistic looking results by using a very thin microblade capable of creating cuts approximately the diameter of real hair in the skin.
Does it hurt?
A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream and liquid are used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable during the procedure.
Certain medical conditions, such as Fibromyalgia, may affect your sensitivity and tolerance of the procedure.
Is microblading right for me?
Although microblading is a fantastic procedure for the majority of people, there are still individuals who it's not suited for, such as:
-
Individuals prone to keloids, super thin skin, Rosacea or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
-
Individuals with transmittable blood diseases such as HIV or Hepatitis.
-
Individuals that have eczema, shingles, rashes, acne or any other skin condition near the eyebrows.
-
Anyone undergoing active chemotherapy.
-
Individuals on Accutane, or who have been on Accutane in the last 6 months.
-
Individuals who are taking blood-thinning medications.
-
Clients who have recently received Botox/filler in the eyebrow area. It is recommended that the client wait at least 2 weeks to get their eyebrows microbladed after being administered any kind of toxin or injectable.
-
Individuals with oily skin. Those with very oily skin and large pores are not good candidates for microblading, as the natural oils in their skin may push the pigment out during the healing process.
-
Individuals under 18 years of age, unless they provide a letter of consent from a parent of guardian.
-
Individuals who are pregnant or nursing.
-
Individuals with dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoos.
How long will my results last?
Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years.
The longevity of a client's microblading results depends on a number of factors, including; the pigment used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sweat, sun exposure) and if any chemical or physical exfoliation is performed on the treated areas. Please note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and wear away at different rates.
How can I prepare for my appointment?
If you have an ideal shape in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so your artist can take into consideration the shape you desire.
Do not remove any hairs at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. The more hair, the better! If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, your artist will remove them.
Clients are required to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen.
Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume.
If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
If your plans change and you're unable to attend your microblading appointment, please let your artist know as soon as possible!
If you cancel or attempt to reschedule your appoint less than 48 hours before the scheduled time, your deposit will be withheld and it will not be applied to your next visit should you choose to reschedule.
What if I already have microblading?
If you've had your eyebrows microbladed or tattooed before, you may still be a good candidate for our services..
In order to establish whether or not you're eligible to become a client at Perfect Brows Boutique, you must text a photo of your brows with no make-up and no filter to (726) 205-8180.
Can I get a touch-up if my eyebrows were microbladed somewhere else?
In spite of the fact that your eyebrows have been microbladed or tattooed by another artist, you will need to book as a new client at Perfect Brows.
This is because:
-
You will be a new client to us, so you'll need to book as a new client.
-
We are unable to touch-up another artists work.
-
We likely use pigments with a different formula than your initial artist used.
-
We likely use a different hair stroke pattern to the one your initial artist created.
-
We will likely map a new shape for you, or make changes or adjustments to your old shape.
Before booking your appointment you must text a photo of your brows with no make-up and no filter to (726) 205-8180 so we can make sure you're a good candidate for our services.
